Karyn lives in Billericay, Essex where she is currently teaching Street/Commercial dance classes at The Dance Theatre Arts Academy in Hornchurch (DTA), and Dance Pointe Essex in Thurrock. As a former Ballet teacher for ACA Dance in Romford, Karyn is a highly classically trained dancer and an affiliated member of the RAD Academy (Royal Academy of Dance). She also holds 10 years of experience as a fully-fledged Musical Theatre teacher for the Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) across Essex, where she has devised performance pieces for students Trinity Exams (Trinity College London) and choreographed Musical Theatre performances bi-annually to be performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. 

 

At the age of 18 in 2008, Karyn attended the London Studio Centre University based in London for 3 years studying Musical Theatre and various styles of dance, singing, and acting. She graduated in 2011 with a BA Honours Degree in Jazz Theatre Dance

 

Karyn began dancing from the age of 3 years old at the Central School of Dance and Drama in Brentwood Essex studying Tap, Jazz, ISTD Ballet, Modern and RAD Ballet qualifying with Advanced 2 in all styles.

 

At a young age, Karyn was selected to perform two separate ballet productions of Coppelia and Cinderella with The European Ballet Company when they brought their tour to The Queens Theatre in Hornchurch, Essex.

Representing The Urdang Academy in 2008, Karyn performed in the production of Move It at the Olympia. She also participated with the Focus Youth Company performing Contemporary dance at the Regional Youth Dance Platform in Cambridge.

 

After graduating, Karyn has made appearance on Sky TV, performed in Charity Events, Festival Shows, West End Live in London, Nevendon Manor Events and Promotional videos. She has also performed in many music videos with various artists. Her highlight was her most recent in 2019 with former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and Harrison for the music video 'Freak Like Me' in July 2019 - by Spinning Records (Warner Music Group).

 

Karyn recently had her first job as a choreographer for the TOPS on Stage amateur dramatics Musical Theatre Society based in Thurrock Essex, where she choreographed for the musical production ‘Legally Blonde’ and had the privilege to perform in the show in March 2022.
